GOD GREW TIRED OF US
GOD GREW TIRED OF US best of 50 films.
In BIFF's documentary section 50 films were screened, 12 of which were in the International Documentary Competition Programme. The Documentary Award of NOK 50.000 will secure Norwegian DVD distribution.
At the closing gala Tuesday evening, The Documentary Award was given to the American film GOD GREW TIRED OF US, directed by Christopher Dillon Quinn. The film is about three Sudanese refugees and has received several international awards previously.
The film was screened on VHS at BIFF, but won nonetheless. The film was also very polular in the audience award voting.
The Youth Documentary Award, awarded by a jury of school pupils, went to the Swiss film A CRUDE AWAKENING – THE OIL CRASH, directed by Basil Gelpke & Ray McCormack. The award prize, NOK 25.000 given by Sparebanken Vest, goes to the filmmaker.
